Important Announcemet Covid-19 (4-13-2021)

  1. For the celebration of Masses and other sacraments, if all the parishioners are wearing masks, the pastor may choose to keep the 6 feet of distance between people from different households or reduce the distance to 3 feet between households. This is based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance for distancing in schools. There would be no other cap to the number of people from different households allowed inside for worship except that people would need to maintain 3 feet of physical distance.
  2. The following groups are now allowed to meet inside, provided that food is not served: the Knights of Columbus; Young Ladies Institute; Men’s Club; Respect Life; and Life, Justice and Peace. Additionally, charismatic prayer groups, Jovenes para Cristo, and other ministries designed to strengthen the participants’ spiritual life, knowledge of the faith, etc. are able to meet inside.

3.  Last week, the CDC issued a new study regarding the chance of COVID-19 being contracted through contact with surfaces. The agency stated that the risk from a contaminated surface is very low, or less than 1 in 10,000. Given this new data, parishes that are frequently cleaning pews and/or chairs no longer need to do so. Additionally, bulletins may be distributed in the regular way. However, we would recommend that high-touch surfaces such as door handles still receive regular cleaning.
